Jubilee Time Capsule looking for Tuvaluan participation

The Royal Commonwealth Society has launched a project called the Jubilee Time Capsule (JTC), which is a unique online archive that will tell the people’s history of the 60 years since Queen Elizabeth II ascended to the throne. 

The RCS is asking people from across the globe to share their memories from the past six decades to help build this exciting history of the Commonwealth.  Stories can be about any subject and do not have to be about The Queen or the Royal Family as we want to build a rich social archive that will become a valuable learning resource for people across the Commonwealth. 

This event coincides with the Royal Family's Diamond Jubilee Tour of 2012, which includes a visit to Tuvalu.

The project currently has almost 15,000 items from over 5,000 contributors spread across 37 different countries across the globe.  Existing entries are at the website www.jubileetimecapsule.org. New Entries may also be added here.

Dr Iftikhar Ayaz, the Honorary Consul for Tuvalu in the United Kingdom, has recorded three short pieces for the JTC which can be viewed here:

Verity Sharp, the Programmes Assistant for the The Royal Commonwealth Society, invites Tuvaluans to visit the website and contribute by sharing memories of such events as Tuvalu Independence Day in 1978 and the Royal Visit of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip in 1982.
