Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visiting Tuvalu in 2012

On December 14, 2011 it was announced that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge would be visiting Tuvalu in 2012.

This visit is part of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Tour, where Her Majesty The Queen, accompanied by His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, celebrate the event with series of regional visits and engagements throughout the United Kingdom during 2012.

Other members of the Royal Family will travel overseas representing The Queen throughout the Diamond Jubilee year, visiting every Realm as well as undertaking visits to Commonwealth countries, Crown Dependencies and British Overseas Territories.

In addition to Tuvalu, Prince William and Catherine will also be visiting the Malaysia, Singapore, and the Solomon Islands.

The date of the visit and further information will be announced later.

Previous Royal Visits to Tuvalu include Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh in 1959 during his world tour, and Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip in 1982.
