TUVALU: PM Confident of Staying in Office
Pacific Beat Wednesday, 4 June 2003 Tuvalu's Prime Minister, Saufatu Sopoanga, says he's confident his government will remain in office, despite the opposition's threat to call for a vote of no-confidence when parliament resumes. The Government lost its one-seat majority in recent by-elections. Since then, there has been a war of words between the government and opposition over how soon after elections parliament should be recalled.
