FRENCH PATROL BOAT IN TUVALU ON GOODWILL VISIT
SUVA, Fiji Islands (May 9, 2001 - Oceania Flash/SPC)---The New Caledonia-based French patrol boat La Moqueuse currently is in Tuvalu on a three-day goodwill visit.
The boat will visit the Kingdom of Tonga next week, the French embassy in the Fiji Islands announced on Wednesday.
La Moqueuse arrived in Funafuti on Monday and is scheduled to leave on Thursday.
Next week, on May 18, the vessel is to arrive in Nuku‘alofa, the capital of Tonga, for another three-day goodwill visit.
Meanwhile, Suva-based French Ambassador Jean-Pierre Vidon, on April 30, presented his credentials to Nauru's recently elected President Rene Harris.
In addition to Fiji, Vidon is accredited to Nauru, Tuvalu, the Federated States of Micronesia, Kiribati, the Marshall Islands and Tonga.
